| Two Trees in Early Spring: by Carl Hetherington. These trees are some of my favorite subjects to paint. They stand alone in the middle of a large pasture keeping each other company against the elements from which they have little protection. They are shown here in early spring before all the leaves are out but there is enough young growth to catch the sun. As is common in the Berkshires, the play of light as the sun sets makes the clouds and the tree tops glow while the grass and bushes lower down are already in shadow. |
