| Sentinel Tree: by Carl Hetherington. As I became familiar with the Berkshires I began to notice the strong character of many of the trees which would cause them to stand out from the forests of their brethren. This is an example. Actually, there are two species growing together making up the ‘tree’ in the foreground as evidenced by the different colors of their foliage. Together, they seem to be guarding the path where it intersects with another. |
