| Roses: by Scott Taylor. My wife Gina’s flower gardens are always a constant source of inspiration for my artwork. These roses were actually up against a picket fence and I liked the vertical-ness of flowers, but wanted to show some horizontal tension in the painting. I started with a horizontal earth tone and then decided to balance it off with two complimentary colors of blue and yellow, juxtaposed to the complimentary red and green. It gave me the look and tension that I was after. |
