| Park Square: by Scott Taylor. This place is called a square but it’s really an oval and vehicles fly around it in every direction, one of New England's last remaining traffic rotaries!. In the middle of this little oasis there is a fountain. On the day that I decided to do this study, a woman and her daughter were playing by the fountain. I can’t say that I’ve got many paintings that I’ve done with people in them or for that matter cows, dogs or chickens. I guess for this one I made an exception, because I know that the woman had to risk her life and her daughter's, just trying to get there. It was ironic because for that moment she and her daughter provided a calmness that contrasted with all that was happening all around them. |
