| Mount Greylock from Partridge Road: Photograph by JL Gardner. "Mount Greylock is the tallest peak in Massachusetts, rising 3,491 feet above sea level and supposedly inspiring Herman Melville's novel 'Moby Dick'. I shot this picture in the Fall of 2006 from a point just east of Partridge Road looking due North. You may recognize this view if you've ever traveled up and over the Mall Road in Lanesboro. This is what you see as you look to the north heading west up the hill. I've often thought that this view could be of any mountaneous range anywhere in the world, but alas, it is here in Berkshire County!" |
