| Great Blue Heron on Cheshire Lake: Photograph by JL Gardner. "Well, there are days when you're out shooting photographs and nothing spectacular comes your way and then there's Autumn in the Berkshires! This one particular beautiful afternoon in the Autumn of 2006, I couldn't hardly turn around without seeing some spectacular shot of one sort or another. I was standing at the far southern shore of Cheshire Lake (Berkshire Village) on this fine day shooting one cluster of trees in full foliage color after another, when my camera caught this Great Blue Heron out in the middle of the lake. I had to move about 50 yards to the west to get the perfect image with the red tree in the background. Then I had to wait another ten minutes for the Heron to raise it's head and look towards the setting sun. I think it was worth the extra effort!" |
