| Mount Greylock Over Pontoosuc: Photograph by JL Gardner. "Two unmistakable landmarks in Berkshire County - Mount Greylock and Pontoosuc Lake! Mount Greylock is the tallest peak in Massachusetts, rising 3,491 feet above sea level and supposedly inspiring Herman Melville's novel 'Moby Dick'. Pontoosuc Lake is the second largest lake in the county and has been a destination for vacationers for over a hundred years. The waters and view couldn't have been clearer, the day I stopped along Hancock Road in Pittsfield to snap this photgraph!" |
