| Blue Collar: by Carl Hetherington. This is a character portrait based on an old sepia photo taken in 1930 at the depths of the depression. The young man, replete in the traditional blue collared working shirt, shows the natural strength and carriage of a ready and able worker while his expression shows his anxiety that there might not be work for him. I deliberately kept the sepia colors which I think capture the mood of that time. |
