| Blue Church in Millerton: by Carl Hetherington. I had seen this wonderful old church many times. I liked the fact that it sat right in the way of the main street in Millerton, New York, so the street had to bend around it. I also loved the blue color which, while not customary for a church, is seen in the Berkshires on homes and other buildings. One day I caught it glowing in the setting sun which illuminated all of its gentile and beautiful aspects. The façade is in bright sunshine while the foreground is in deep shade which is the result of a ridge to the west sharply cutting the sunlight as the sun sets behind it. |
