| Barn in Amenia: by Carl Hetherington. This barn is located a few miles north of Amenia, New York on Route 22 on the right hand side of the road. It is part of a much larger complex of what must have been at one time a large, successful farming operation. What was different about the barn were the beautiful arches supporting the roof and partially exposed by age and weather. They instantly reminded me of a cathedral in a cornfield. I’m glad I captured it when I did because not two years later the entire upper part collapsed into the foundation which is all that can be seen now as you drive by. |
