Greetings and welcome to Artisans of the Berkshires, the on-line gallery dedicated to showcasing and selling artistic work inspired and created in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts!

Although we are still officially under construction, many improvements have already been made and it is possible now, to both navigate the site to each individual artist’s page and to view their individual on-line gallery. From each artist’s page, you can navigate to a detailed individual item page, by clicking on the item at the bottom of the main page. New items and specific details about each piece have been added to fully describe the piece as best possible. All items are also available for purchase as well. If you see something you like and would like to inquire about purchasing or have questions about the piece you’d like to have answered, simply send an e-mail and you will receive an immediate response, often with 24 hours:

Artisans of the Berkshires (AotB) grew out of my desire to showcase and sell my own photography and one-of-kind barnboard framed pictures to a broader local and national audience. After initially researching the formidable task of developing a website to achieve this purpose for myself, I realized how extremely complex, time-consuming and challenging such a proposition is for many people. Between the technical expertise required, time and monetary investments necessary, and overall commitment to such a project, everything quickly made me realize I'd need to sacrifice my passion for creating art (along with working a regular fulltime job!) in order to create the kind of website I’d be satisfied with and expand my marketplace. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was not alone in this plight - there were many local artists struggling with the same conundrum! A small collection of friends and experts, and myself, convened in the early months of 2006 to see what we could develop. What we came up with was an on-line marketplace where all of us could exhibit our wares, the likes of which, you are currently examining. AotB has been successfully operating as an on-line gallery since June 14th of 2006.

If you are a new customer, welcome and please enjoy the beauty of the Berkshires at your home; inspired locally - distributed globally!

If you are artist, looking for a solution to your website needs, now you can share in mine, and many other people's hard work, experience and financial investment. You can join our community of artisans and have your own personalized webpage highlighting you and your art. Here, customers from around the globe can learn more about you, view your work and make purchases with the greatest of ease! Please come and join us, creating may be a solitary task, why should selling it be?

Thank you one and all, I hope you enjoy your visit to Artisans of the Berkshires and the beautiful art we have on display!

Sincerely,
Jeff Gardner
